International Steel Spans's colored arches, end wall panels and trim are coated with Akzo Nobel Ceram-A-Star® 1050 coating systems. Akzo Nobel is a leading producer of paints, finishes and synthetic resins for industrial applications. Akzo Nobel Ceram-A-Star 1050 paint coating is a "cool paint" with special pigments designed to reflect infrared energy while absorbing visible light. With superior reflective qualities that reflect up to 70% of the sun's rays and act as a thermal barrier to keep the inside of metal buildings cooler, these paint coating systems are Energy Star and LEED compliant, helping make buildings more energy efficient. The result is a sustainable building that can reduce energy use and lower energy costs while protecting the environment. The use of Akzo Nobel "cool paint" coatings can keep your building up to 20% cooler in the hot sun.
